Collection: Thomas Sautelle Roberts

Thomas Sautelle Roberts (1760–1826) was an Irish landscape painter known for his detailed depictions of the Irish countryside. Born in Waterford, he was the son of architect John Roberts and initially trained in architecture before shifting to painting. His works, characterized by rich textures and dynamic compositions, were exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Society of Artists of Ireland. Roberts' landscapes often feature dramatic lighting, rugged terrain, and flowing water, capturing the natural beauty of Ireland. His paintings remain significant examples of 18th and early 19th-century Irish landscape art.
