Jeremiah O'Donovan Rossa (1831-1915) was an influential Irish nationalist leader and key figure in the Irish Republican Brotherhood. Born in County Cork, Ireland, O'Donovan Rossa dedicated his life to the cause of Irish independence from British rule. He was involved in various revolutionary activities, including the Fenian movement, and was imprisoned for his efforts. After his release, he continued to advocate for Irish freedom and played a prominent role in organizing nationalist campaigns. His impassioned speeches and commitment to the cause made him a revered figure in Irish history. O'Donovan Rossa's funeral in 1915, marked by his famous graveside oration, remains a significant event in the annals of Irish nationalism.
