Celebrate the mastery of Irish Modernism with this museum-quality reproduction of Single Element (c.1938) by Mainie Jellett (1897–1944) — a pivotal figure who introduced abstract art to Ireland and redefined its cultural identity.

This striking composition, dominated by rhythmic interlocking greens, greys, and blues, reflects Jellett’s mature synthesis of Cubist form and spiritual symbolism. The work embodies her belief that abstraction could express divine order — a “visual music” of balance and faith. Exhibited at the Salon d’Automne, Paris (1938) among the students of her mentor Albert Gleizes, Single Element reveals the confidence and harmony of Jellett’s later style.

Trained under William Orpen in Dublin and later under André Lhote and Albert Gleizes in Paris, Jellett became Ireland’s leading voice for Modernism. Her art fused European Cubism with a uniquely Irish spiritual sensibility, creating a bridge between analytical structure and emotional resonance.

The painting’s provenance adds to its significance — originally owned by Bay Jellett, the artist’s sister, before appearing in the Mainie Jellett Retrospective (Dublin & Cork, 1962) and later at Adam’s with Bonhams (2007).

This museum-grade reproduction is printed on Master’s Edition 250 gsm matte paper, preserving the tonal clarity of the original.
